An Israeli Apache attack helicopter is firing on neighbourhoods in the east of Gaza City, Al Jazeera Arabic reports.
Israeli armoured vehicles have also opened fire on the same areas in the north of the territory, according to other local Palestinian media reports.
In southern Gaza, Israel tanks are conducting heavy shelling on al-Qarara town, located to the east of Khan Younis, according to reports, and strikes on the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza have also been reported in the past hour.
There are no reports of casualties yet.
