HYDERABAD: Two young women were run over by a train bound for upcountry in the area of Hussainabad police station on Thursday.

Hussainabad police station’s SHO, Imtiaz Larik, confirmed that 26-year-old Ms Sohni, daughter of Kishan, and 28-year-old Ms Rashna, daughter of Mohammad Qasim, died on the spot after having been hit by the train.

“It is not yet confirmed whether they died while crossing over tracks or otherwise.

There is another unconfirmed report that they were trying to film the train when they were hit,” said the SHO.

He said that the train was Karachi Express that was coming to Hyderabad for upcountry journey.

The bodies were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad, by Rescue 1122 staff wherefrom the heirs received them, said the SHO, adding no post mortem was conducted on the bodies.

The deceased were studying in a private college located in State Life building and were also getting training in some minority related programme being conducted by some non-governmental organisation, according to the SHO.
