KARACHI, May. 2: The police late on Monday night registered an FIR against a police party for raiding a house in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Sunday. The investigation police of the Mobina Town police station had arrested six women for their alleged involvement in immoral activities.

However, police raid continued for well over six hours, making it quite controversial. The Town Investigation Officer Gulshan, failed to justify the prolonged duration of the raid carried out by his subordinates.

A senior police officer of the Gulshan Town told Dawn that the FIR was registered against the raiding police party after an inquiry was ordered by the SSP Investigation Niaz Khoso into the raid.

The inquiry reveled highhandedness by the police party during the raid.

The Gulistan-i-Jauhar SHO said an FIR 150/2006 was lodged against SI Iqbal and other policemen on the complaint of Riasat Ali. However, none of the nominated policemen have been arrested.
