PESHAWAR: In a groundbreaking development, the Khyber College of Dentistry (KCD) has become the first institution in the country to receive the recognition of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council for initiating the postgraduate specialty programme — MSc (oral medicine and diagnosis).

The KCD said the achievement marked a proud moment not only for it but also for the entire nation, as it opened a new chapter in advanced dental education.

“This landmark accomplishment would not have been possible without the visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and tireless efforts of KCD dean Prof Syed Nasir Shah.

The Department of Oral Medicine and Diagnosis, through its consistent hard work and commitment, also played a vital role in securing this recognition,” read a statement. The KCD said it was a pioneer in maintaining excellence, innovation and leadership in dental education and research.

It added that with the launch of that MSc programme, it again proved its commitment to setting new standards and pathways for dental health advancement in the country.
