PESHAWAR: Hundreds of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers thronged Nishtar Hall here on Thursday to attend a youth convention to mark the third anniversary of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ouster from power.

The event organised by Insaf Youth Wing was addressed by leaders of Insaf Students Federation, lawmakers and other party activists. In their speeches, the party leaders asked the workers to continue preparations for a march on Islamabad.

KP minister for higher education Meena Khan Afridi in his speech said that they would go to every district to mobilise youth to participate in the march. Mr Afridi said that this time around they would walk on foot to reach the federal capital.

Mr Afridi said that PTI workers would not leave alone Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi and other party workers languishing in jails. Mr Afridi said that a massive number of people would march on Islamabad and the rulers would not find a place to hide.

PTI Peshawar president Irfan Saleem in his speech said that KP Assembly was being used to rubber stamp the Mines and Minerals Bill 2025. He asked the provincial assembly members and government not to pass the bill.

MPA Shafi Jan in his speech said the youth would not flinch while facing ‘state brutalities’. Insaf Youth Wing central chief Ihsan Toor also said that they were preparing the ground for a movement. He said those committing excesses against the party workers would be held accountable for their acts. He said Imran Khan was the future prime minister of the country.

PTI KP secretary information Malik Adeel Iqbal and others also spoke on the occasion.
