NAROWAL: The three-day Grand Flower Festival organised by the district administration at the Faiz Ahmed Faiz Park concluded here on Monday.

In addition to students of different schools, colleges and universities, a large number of families also attended the event, where hundreds of local as well as foreign varieties of flowers were displayed.

Students highlighted the cultural heritage of the region and modern technology at their camps in the festival, which also featured a music night and pet show, where dozens of pet owners arrived with their beautiful birds and animals.

During the event, a Punjab Food Authority team offered quality food items to the visitors at affordable prices.

Different departments, including Education, Health, Agriculture, Livestock and Rescue 1122 also set up their stalls at the event.

The event also featured a poetry reading session, where renowned poets recited their works.

Narowal Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza told Dawn that the district government had been making preparations for holding the festival for three months.

He said that more than 20 departments participated in the festival, which was also attended by residents of neighbouring districts, including Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Sheikhupura, in large numbers.

He congratulated all the departments’ district heads for successfully organising the festival and awarded shields to the best performers in different events.
