KOHAT: The Bilitang police solved a blind murder case of a youth, who had been missing for 26 days, by arresting two brothers on Wednesday.

A local resident had got registered a case that his son had gone outside his house, but did not return. He told the police that they contacted relatives and his friends, who told them that he had not visited them.

The police said they were informed by people about a body lying in the mountains. They called the father of the missing man, who recognised that it was his son’s.

The body was shifted to hospital for autopsy and then handed over to the relatives.

The district police officer had tasked SHO Irfan Khan to trace and arrest the killers immediately.

SHO Irfan conducted raids at several places and arrested one of the accused, who gave the name and the hideout of his brother, who was also arrested.

The murder accused have been identified as Sadaam and Razi, belonging to Tappi area, who had migrated to Bilitang a year back.

The SHO said the motive behind the killing had not been known as yet.

LAW AND ORDER: A jirga attended by officials of the district administration, law enforcement agencies, elected representatives, political, religious and social leaders discussed on Wednesday the measures to maintain law and order situation in Kohat division during Eid days.

Talking to reporters, Kohat division commissioner Syed Motasim Billah Shah said that coordinated efforts were critical to establishing lasting peace in the region. He added that these jirgas played crucial role in maintaining tranquility.
