Sikhs donate Rs1.4m to relief fund

RAWALPINDI, April 29: Federal Minister of Religious Affairs Ijazul Haq presented a cheque of Rs1.4 million to President Gen Pervez Musharraf here on Saturday.

According to a press release, the cheque was donated by Kuldeep Singh Wadala, chief organizer of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib of Jalandhar, India, for President’s Earthquake Relief Fund.

The president thanked and appreciated the kind gesture of the Sikh community for helping the affected people of the devastating earthquake in the NWFP and Azad Kashmir.
