TOBA TEK SINGH: The chase of a car speeding at 165km/hour by M-3 police on Friday night came as a blessing for a Samanabad (Lahore) resident who was allegedly abducted by two people for ransom some five days ago.

Quoting Motorway (M3) police inspector Wasey Mukhtar, Nankana Saddar police said when the car was chased, its driver first accelerated and then took a u-turn on the one-way track. He drove the car to a service area and both its occupants disappeared in an adjacent farm.

Later they exchanged fire with police which caused panic among commuters. Police arrested one of the accused while his accomplice escaped.

The M-3, it may be added, has night speed cameras.

When police opened the door of the backseat, it found Brian Masih tied with ropes.

Police recovered two hand grenades, a pistol and bullets, four mobile phones and 370 grams of ice heroin from the impounded car.

Brian told police he had been abducted five days ago from Lahore by two car riders – Zahid Bashir Kamboh of Renala Khurd, Okara, and Irfan Munir of Bagga Chak, Nankana Sahib.

He said the accused had demanded ransom for his release from his family.

Police said Kamboh had been arrested while search for other was on.

Nankana police registered a case under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, section 5 of The Explosive Substances Act, section 9(2)4 of The Control of Narcotics Substances Act, section 13(2)A of The Punjab Arms Amendment Ordinance and sections 353, 324, 186, 279 and 34 of PPC.

TRESPASS: Five persons were booked on Saturday by Thikriwala (Faisalabad) police on the charge of trespassing into Eiman Public School and torturing two persons.

ASI Muhammad Ehtisham said five armed persons were seen in a video beating two children Abdullah and Mubashir due to unknown reasons in the school, causing harassment among children during the annual prize distribution of the school.

Police spokesperson said three of the accused – Riaz, Aurangzeb and Javed – had been arrested.

KIDNAP: A matriculation student was allegedly kidnapped by two persons from the gate of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Pirmahal.

Complainant Mehvish Nasir of Chak 339 GB claimed in her FIR registered by Pirmahal police that her daughter Sehroosh (16) went to appear in annual matriculation examination where accused

Ali Zain of Pirmahal bundled her into his car with the help of his accomplice and drove her to unknown place.
