TOBA TEK SINGH: A Faisalabad Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) team claimed to have recovered a huge quantity of drugs in a raid on the house of a former policeman at Chak 232-RB, Bawaywala, on Thursday.

As per the FIR registered on the complaint of ANF Inspector Nauman Ghous, on a tip-off that a former policeman, Suhail Anjum, was supplying narcotics in the area, a team chased and caught him red-handed when he was transporting drugs on a motorcycle.

Later, in a search of his house, the ANF team recovered 291.6kg hashish and 62.4kg opium, the FIR said.

Faisalabad ANF police station registered a case against the suspect under different sections.

The FIR adds that the suspect and his two others, identified as Danish Siddiq and Akhtar, would get supply of narcotics from their accomplices.

Their three accomplices, a former SHO of Samanabad police, Imtiaz Ahmad Jappa, ex-sub inspector Tayyab and ex-constable Shahid Shoukat, had already been arrested in a raid conducted by senior police officers, who had recovered 4kg opium and 2kg hashish from the SHO’s cabinet at Samanabad police station.

MURDER: A woman axed her daughter to death over a matrimonial dispute on Thursday night in Haveli Bahadur Shah in Shorkot tehsil of Jhang.

Reports said Shabana (20) was divorced a few months ago. Her mother Munir Fatima wanted Shabana to marry a man of her choice but deceased Shabana rejected the proposal. Waryamwala police have arrested the accused woman.
