Jenin Governor Kamal Abu al-Rab has told Al Jazeera that Israeli forces are attempting to expand their military operation throughout the governorate by all means possible to implement their plan to make it uninhabitable.

Abu al-Rab explained that the Israeli army stormed four locations simultaneously at dawn today, besieging residential buildings and forcing residents to flee. They are also continuing to convert the homes of many citizens into military barracks, even after withdrawing from the eastern neighbourhood.

He added that Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz’s threats to prevent those forcibly displaced from returning to the camp, in addition to his statements regarding the possibility of the army remaining in Jenin for a year, are a show of force and an attempt to intimidate citizens.
