HYDERABAD, April 27: The Sindh National Party (SNP) announced a sit-in against what it calls anti-Sindh projects at the Super Highway toll plaza on Friday and warned the government against sabotaging the protest.

Speaking at a news conference in the Hyderabad press club, party chairman of the Amir Bhambhro, leaders Dilshad Bhutto, Ashraf Noonari and Anwar Khoso said the government of Gen Musharraf had launched anti-Sindh projects and was trying to implement them by force.

The leaders said that no water was available in the river Indus, but the government was building dams.

Since 1947, the SNP leaders said, Sindh was being discriminated against the National Finance Commission award, though it generated more revenue than the other provinces.

They criticised the demolition of Sindhi villages in Karachi and Hyderabad, and expulsion of people from their homes.
