ISLAMABAD, April 26: Another two convicts of assassination attempt on President Pervez Musharraf have moved the Supreme Court against the capital punishment awarded to them by a military trial court.
With these two petitions the number of appellants approaching the apex court against their conviction in this case has risen to 11.
Petitioners Rana Naveed and Amir Sohail, in their joint appeal filed by advocates Mohammad Akram and Hashmat Habib, have challenged their court martial. They were sentenced to death after having been found guilty of the crime committed on December 25, 2003.
The appeals came up for preliminary hearing before the bench comprising Justice Faqir Mohammad Khokhar and Justice M Javed Buttar on Thursday.
