Rehman emerges winner

LAHORE, April 26: M. Rehman emerged as winner of the first Punjab junior golf championship with aggregate score of 148 at the Lahore Gymkhana golf course on Wednesday.

Rehman produced two good rounds of 73 and 75 in the two-day event to win the Under-21 event.

Daniyal Jahangir was placed second with aggregate score of 152.

Faisal Hanif, Robin Masih and Rohail Akbar also played well to find a place among top five players.

All the top five golfers have been selected to take part in the national championship to be held next month.

Zohaib Asif of the Lahore Garrison claimed the top position in the Under-17 event with aggregate score of 152.

Prizes were distributed among the three best golfers in the under 21 and under 17 categories.

Daniyal Jehangir won the prize for maximum birdies and Master Murtaza Ali won a special prize for being the youngest player of the tournament, only nine-and-a-half-year old.
