LAHORE, April 26: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi said on Wednesday by laying the foundation stone of Bhasha Dam, President Musharraf had honoured another promise he had made with the people.

With the launch of the project, he said, the country had entered into a new era of prosperity.

He was talking to provincial ministers and senior officials who received him at the airport here upon his return from Saudi Arabia where he performed umra along with his family members.

He was received among others by ministers Imran Masood and Abdul Aleem Khan, Chief Secretary Salman Siddique, Principal Secretary G M Sikandar, IGP Ziaul Hassan Khan and other senior officials.

The chief minister was briefed on law and order by the chief secretary and the IG. He ordered that the speed of the on-going public-welfare projects be accelerated, ensuring their timely completion.
