KARACHI: Rangers and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), in a joint intelligence-based operation at a drug den in the Machhar Colony area, arrested three suspected drug peddlers and recovered a large cache of drugs from their possession.

According to a spokesperson for the Rangers on Wednesday, the raid was conducted at the den of notorious drug dealer Mama Yaqoob, where three accused individuals — identified as Wasil Khan, Sultan, and Gul Zareen — were arrested.

The agencies recovered 142.640 kg of hashish, 400 grams of ice, three mobile phones and cash from the apprehended suspects.

According to the initial investigation, the accused revealed that they had been involved in drug trafficking since 2018 and were major drug dealers in Karachi. They used to transport drugs from Quetta and Gwadar to Karachi using freight vehicles and fruit trucks, supplying them to other drug dealers.

Raids are being conducted to arrest their accomplices.

The arrested suspects, along with the seized drugs and cash, have been handed over to the ANF for further legal action.
