KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has said that the provincial government is actively working towards the early introduction of electric scooters for women in the province.

In this regard, a delegation of Chinese manufacturers of electric scooters met with him and held detailed deliberations in this regard.

The delegation expressed keen interest in investing in the transport sector of Sindh and submitted their proposals to promote modern and environment friendly travel facilities.

The delegation also delivered a detailed briefing to Mr Memon about the company’s latest technology and transport systems.

Invites Chinese investors to set up EV manufacturing plant in Sindh

Welcoming the Chinese investors, the minister offered them to establish an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant in Sindh.

He assured the delegation of the Sindh government’s full cooperation and investment-friendly policies.

He stated that the Sindh government was making dedicated efforts to empower the women of the province further.

He added that a plan is under consideration to provide 1,000 electric scooters to working women and female students soon.

Furthermore, he emphasised that the manufacturing of electric vehicles in the province would boost industrial development and create new employment opportunities.
