PESHAWAR: Six terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in North Waziristan on Friday, the military’s media wing said.

A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) read that the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Ghulam Khan village on reported presence of terrorists in the area.

During the IBO, security forces effectively engaged their hideout and killed six terrorists in the exchange of fire, the ISPR stated.

It added that weapons and ammunition were also seized from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in the killing of civilians and numerous activities against the security forces.

It read that sanitisation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other militant found in the area, as security forces were determined to wipe out the menace from the country.
