KARACHI: A recklessly driven water tanker killed another young citizen in Korangi late on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.

Sharafi Goth SHO Sadaruddin Mirani said that Irfan, 35, was on a motorcycle when the tanker hit and ran over him near Godown Chowrangi.

Moreover, the body remained stuck beneath the tanker for long, until the heavy vehicle was jacked up and the corpse moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

The errant driver managed to escape, leaving behind the water tanker that was seized by the police.

The police said the victim, father of a child, was a resident of Shirin Jinnah Colony and worked at a garment factory in the Korangi Industrial Area.

Man shot dead over ‘personal dispute’

A young man was shot dead while his father injured over a personal dispute near Shafiq Mor in the limits of Gabol Town police on Wednesday, police said.

Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi said that some cousins met to settle a personal dispute between them. However, during an argument, one side led by Khuda Rahim resorted to firing, resulting in killing of Dawood Khan, 32, and injuries to his father Rehmat Deen, 57.

The suspects managed to escape from the spot. The body and injured were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
