KARACHI: Hundreds of retired employees of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) have appealed to the Sindh chief minister to release a Rs3 billion grant-in-aid so that they can receive their retirement dues.

They stated that due to the KDA’s poor financial condition, employees who retired after September 2020 have not received their dues.

The KDA retirees are facing severe problems and mental agony due to non-payment of their dues, and some have even died from mental stress, they added.

They said that they had been hearing from months that the Sindh government would release a grant-in-aid of Rs3 billion but nothing has happened so far.

They appealed to the CM to consider their plight and order authorities concerned to release the amount.
