The Times of Israel, citing an unnamed Israeli official, says the Palestinian group has the following three choices:

  • Extend phase one of the ceasefire and continue to release Israeli captives held in Gaza.
  • Move to a second phase, in which Israel will end the conflict in exchange for Hamas releasing all remaining captives, and by disarming, exiling leaders and giving up civil control of Gaza.
  • End the ceasefire and return to all-out offensive.

“It would be different,” the official was quoted as saying. “A new defence minister, a new chief of staff, all the weapons we need, and full legitimacy, one hundred percent, from the Trump administration.”

The official added, “The gates of hell will be opened, as they say.”
