Top US diplomat Rubio says Hamas ‘must be eliminated’

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said Palestinian militant group Hamas “must be eliminated”, after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, AFP reports.

“Hamas cannot continue as a military or a government force… they must be eliminated,” Rubio said at a joint news conference with Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
