LOWER DIR: The elementary and secondary education department has announced the teachers’ recruitment through the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (Etea) in the Lower Dir district.

Talking to Dawn on Saturday, district education officer Inayatullah Khan said that the department had to fill a total of 217 vacant posts of primary schoolteachers (PSTs), 15 of theology teachers (TTs), 18 of Arabic teachers (ATs), 14 of physical education teachers (PETs), 13 of drawing masters (DMs), 70 of certified teachers (CTs), 16 of Qari and 15 posts of CT information technology (CTIT) through Etea.

He said that 50 posts of PST were to be filled in the Balambat tehsil, 50 in Adenzai, 25 in Khall, 50 in Lal Qila, 19 in Munda and 32 in Samarbagh.

Meanwhile, the E&SE department promoted a total of 72 teachers of various cadres to the post of secondary school teachers (SSTs) in pay scale 16.

The promoted teachers, including senior certified teachers, senior drawing masters, senior Qari, senior theology teachers, senior Arabic teachers and senior primary schoolteachers were directed to take over the charge of their duties at government high and higher secondary schools mentioned in their promotion orders.

The district education officer told reporters that the vacant posts in schools would soon be filled.
