Anat Angrest, the mother of Israeli soldier Matan Angrest, has told the Haaretz daily that while Hamas is committed to the swap agreement, the government “stalled for political reasons”, affecting its timely implementation, Al Jazeera reports.
The mother revealed that one of the recently released Israeli captives, who had been part of the swap, indicated that her son Matan is still alive in Gaza.
“We are pleading with Israeli authorities to take action to ensure the deal progresses,” she said.
