Second win for HK

RAWALPINDI, April 23: Hong Kong notched up their second successive win in two days outplaying Iran 17-5 in the Asia Cup Baseball Championship at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The Iranians were no match for their rivals who rode on the fine work of Leung Yu Chiung who scored two runs including a home run while Chin Yan Nak got three.

Iran, opened the scoring in the second innings and then added two runs apiece in the fourth and fifth. Babak Mirzain, Mehdi Gol Muhammadi, Amir Hossein Heydari, Nima Bagheri Nia and Ameer Hamayun scored one run each.

Earlier on Saturday, Hong Kong thrashed Thailand 17-5 in a one-sided match.

Pakistan meanwhile were playing Sri Lanka in a late match on Sunday and led 7-0.

Main scorers:

Hong Kong: Leung Yu Chiung (2 runs including one home run), Chin Yan Nak (3 runs), Chan Tsz Yeung (2), NG Yuk Ming (2), Auwing (2), Tsang Kai Kong (2).

Iran: Babak Mirzain (1), Medhi Gol Muhammadi (1), Amir Hossein Heydari (1), Nima Bagheri Nia (1), Ameer Hamayun (1).
