ISLAMABAD: An Afghan woman and her daughter were killed in a road accident in capital on Thursday, police said.

The deceased were identified as Hamida, 60, and her daughter Heela Ahmedzai 31, they added.

The incident took place when Hamida along with her two daughters Tahmina Ahmedzai was going to her home at Bangash Colony Rawalpindi from Afghan Embassy when an speeding vehicle hit Hamida and Heela when they were crossing Srinagar Highway opposite to AGPR office.

As a result both sustained critical injuries and were shifted to hospital by some passers by where they died.

The Industrial Area police have registered a case against the driver under section 322 and 279 of PPC in response to a complaint lodged by Tahmina.

Meanwhile, a man was found dead in the area of Taronl, police said.

The deceased in his early 20s was yet to be identified.

Some passersby spotted the body lying in the wooded area adjacent to a graveyard at Pindoarian and later informed the police.

Police shifted the body to a hospital for pending identification and further legal procedure.

The police said that autopsy over the body will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
