GUJRANWALA, April 23: Cases against mill owners will be registered if they are found involved in supplying substandard flour at subsidised rate to retail shops and sale points.

This was stated by District Coordination Officer Manzer Hayat while speaking at a meeting held here on Sunday.

He directed the revenue officers to get flour samples from sale points and mills and send them to Lahore for analysis.

He warned that the millers involved in providing substandard flour would be closed.

Reports said some citizens had complained about the quality of subsidised ‘atta’ being supplied to retail shops and sale points.

FINED: The district bar association fined Rs12,000 to its vice-president Khidmat Husain Waqar for participating in the strike of revenue patwaris and accepted his unconditional apology here on Sunday.

Reports said over 150 bar members had tabled a resolution against the vice-president and demanded cancellation of his membership for violating rules. However, lawyers disposed of the case without cancelling his membership.
