SUKKUR: Two cousins were killed when a brawl between two rival groups of Brohi clan spiraled into an armed clash in a village in riverine area within the jurisdiction of Chak police station in Shikarpur district on Thursday.

The cousins, Abdul Jabbar and Khadim Hussain Brohi, died on the spot after the two groups fired straight at each other.

The assailants managed to escape from the area as tribesmen on both sides took up positions in their respective areas to stop retaliatory attacks, said villagers.

They said the victims’ families of could not even remove bodies of their loved ones after the incident as their rivals were firing intermittently in the air to scare away their opponents.

Meanwhile, police reached the crime scene and shifted the bodies to Lakhi taluka hospital for medico-legal formalities.
