PESHAWAR, April 21: MPA of the ruling PML Nighat Orakzai has termed the party workers’ convention held here on Thursday a success despite what she termed hurdles created by the provincial government.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, the PML (Q) women wing provincial president alleged that the NWFP government and the district administration had created hurdles in Thursday’s convention, by misguiding the people of far-flung areas about the venue of the event.

She said that the Leaguers were diverted to army stadium instead of the Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium and that the provincial government had intentionally nominated parking place away from the convention venue, so that workers could not reach their on time.

Ms Orakzai claimed that about 45,000 people attended the convention from across the Frontier province who expressed their confidence in the PML.

She hoped that the PML (Q) would emerge victorious in the next general elections in the NWFP, adding that due to the present leadership of the party the PML had been revived at the grass-root level. She said that for the first time the green flags of the PML were fluttered in the streets of Peshawar.
