TOBA TEK SINGH: Kamalia Saddar police raided and recovered a kidnapped 14-year-old boy of Chak 732-GB from the hilly area near Peshawar and he rejoined his widow mother on Thursday.

The boy, Shahzeb, told the police that one Nadim of Kamalia had taken him away eight months ago to provide him with a job but sold him to some people in Peshawar. His captors chained his legs and used him in bonded labour to dig tunnels in the mountains. He said they hardly provided him meals and tortured him.

ASI Sajjad said police traced the boy through technical support and successfully raided and recovered him. Nadim and his three accomplices had also been arrested.

FOUR DIE: Four members of a family died after a bus hit their motorcycle near Chak 28/10-R Wala Adda in Mian Channu tehsil of Khanewal on Kacha Khuh-Vehari Road.

Rescue 1122 said Abdul Rasheed (40) was on the way to Khanewal along with his wife, Haseena Bibi (30) and two children, Rashid (8) and another son Asif (5), when a bus coming from opposite direction ran the bike over. As a result, all four members of the family died on impact. An unidentified passer-by also received injuries and he was shifted to district headquarters hospital.

Eyewitnesses said the accident took place due to the speeding bus. Police have impounded the bus while its driver ran away leaving his bus on the road.

BLASPHEMY: Toba City police arrested a man on charges of blasphemy.

City SHO Muhammad Nadim Jatt alleged in the FIR registered under Section 298-A of PPC that the suspect, a resident of 3-Marla Housing Scheme in Chak 295-GB, Barianwala, had posted blasphemous material on his facebook page against the companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Police seized the mobile phone of the suspect. After his arrest, they immediately shifted him to the district jail.

RAPE: A teenage boy has been raped near Shakarganj Sugar Mills on the Toba Road in Jhang.

Complainant Mushtaq Ahmad of Basti Abbaspur claimed in his FIR registered with Satellite Town, Jhang, that his 16-year-old egg-seller son was overpowered by the suspect who took him away to a deserted place and raped him.

The police spokesperson claimed that the suspect had been arrested.
