CELEBRATORY FIRING: People in Pakistan often indulge in celebratory aerial firing without caring about the danger it poses to people and property. The dang-erous trend not only raises questions on the performance of law-enforcement agencies, but also adds up to the worsening noise pollution. The weapons used for aerial firing are mostly unauthorised and unlicensed, and that is an offence in itself. Healthy trends should be adopted and promoted by one and all.

TWO-WHEEL TERROR: The alarming surge in daily motorcycle theft is creating unrest among the people of Rohri. Despite several complaints, the authorities have failed to curb the rising menace. Most incidents occur in the night, between 8pm and 10pm, when there is loadshedding in the town. There is a need for strict police patrols, better surveillance systems, and penalties for the offenders. It is time law-enforcement agencies pri-oritised public safety and took a decisive action to restore peace and security.

LIBRARY IN ZAFARWAL: Zafarwal, a tehsil in the Narowal district, does not have a library. Students have to travel 27km to Narowal by using private tran-sport every day in order to have access to reading material, reference books and academic resources. The whole experience is neither comfortable nor affordable. Even the library in Narowal fails to provide a user-friendly environment. The government must establish a well-equipped library in Zafarwal to increase access to knowledge, fostering a culture of learning.

INCOMPLETE ROADS: The road from Garello to Umar Bhayo in Larkana district has remained incomplete for a long time. Similar is the fate of the road linking Bakrani to Garello. The relevant authorities should look into the matter and complete the projects that actually hold significance for the local people.
