PESHAWAR: Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Fazal Moqeem Khan on Wednesday underscored the need for adoption of modern tools and compliance with international standards to enhance exports.

He also urged the government and relevant institutions to provide special grants and patronage for new young entrepreneurs and the business community.

Mr Moqeem was speaking during a session for a national export training programme organised by SCCI in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan here, according to a statement.

The participants included SCCI vice president Shehyar Khan, secretary general Muqtasid Ahsan and executive committee members Ashfaq Ahmad, Saifullah Khan and Rashid Iqbal Siddiqui, TDAP director Nauman Bashir, deputy director Ayaz Mohammad and assistant manager Aamir Khan, exporters, students, new, young entrepreneurs, lawyers, and others.

Export training programme held by SCCI, TDAP

The TDAP officials, through a multimedia presentation, informed participants about registration in the Pakistan Trade Portal initiative, meant for enhancement of export to global markets, special grant and incentives for exporters, assistance to the business community for participation in international trade exhibitions, and other important points about trade and exports.

The SCCI chief urged the government to introduce business-friendly policies and provision of facilities under one window operation to the trading community.

The TDAP director educated participants about initiatives for enhancement of exports to the international market and other programmes.

He said TDAP would formulate a business plan for the next year in consultation with chambers and relevant stakeholders.

Mr Moqeem appreciated the TDAP for arranging such an informative session for new, young entrepreneurs and students of educational institutions.

He hoped that the participants would get full benefits after getting information about export and trade, business through this session.

Meanwhile, the SCCI distributedcertificates to 120 participants. In the next session, more than 40 students and new young entrepreneurs will participate in the programme.
