KARACHI: Armed suspects broke into a house on Monday and opened fire on four brothers inside the residence, after which two of them were killed while the other two wounded in the SITE area, police said.

The Pak Colony police said Asadullah, 45, and Samiullah, 20, were shot dead while their other two brothers, Ameerullah, 35, and Ikramullah, 44, were wounded in KMC Colony, Haroonabad.

The bodies and injured were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Area SHO Malik Mumtaz said unidentified suspects attacked the victims inside their home. He said during the initial probe, it transpired that the victims had quarreled with some boys in their neighbourhood over an issue related to children’s fight. That issue was reportedly resolved on the spot. However, the heirs suspected that the same boys might be involved in the double murder case.

The police had taken statements from the wounded persons and launched an investigation to ascertain the identity and motive of the killers.
