LAHORE: An international delegation of the mid-career government officers of various countries visited the Pakistan Railways (PR) Lahore Division’s headquarters here on Friday.

The eight-member delegation representing railways of Sri Lanka, Kenya, Rwanda, Liberia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe visited the Pakistan Railways’ traffic, signaling, mechanical, engineering, land infrastructure and commercial sections.

It also visited the offices of divisional superintendent and traffic control and monitoring.

The PR Lahore team led by the Divisional Superintendent Hanif Gull also gave a detailed briefing to the visiting delegation members, stating that the department is making all out efforts to provide standard traveling services to a large number of passengers.

“The major ML-1 project would also be launched soon and it would modernise a number of services we are providing to the passengers at large,” Mr Gull said and added that the PR would help various countries build capacity of their railways in various departments.

The delegation members on the occasion praised the rail administration for briefing them on various sections of the PR, stating that they would replicate the PR’s good practices in railways of their respective countries.

Meanwhile according to a spokesman for the PR Lahore division, the departure of Karakoram express, business express and Karachi express delayed by 30 minutes to 1 and half hour due to late arrival from Karachi caused by foggy weather.
