PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Industries Abdul Karim Tordher has directed the authorities concerned to promptly resolve the pending issues regarding the establishment of the Buner Marble City.

He issued the directives while presiding over a meeting on the project here on Tuesday.

Secretary industries, commerce and technical education Aamir Afaq, special secretary Anwar Khan, additional secretary Rehan Gul Khattak, Buner deputy commissioner Kashif Qayyum and officials from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) and other relevant officers attended the meeting.

The Buner deputy commissioner informed the CM’s special assistant about the progress made so far on the proposed industrial project, and administrative responsibilities related to its subsequent aspects.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Tordher directed the officials of KPEZDMC to collaborate with the local administration in executing this project.

He emphasised that all phases involving different departments should be expedited as a priority so the long-pending project could be initiated as soon as possible.

The CM aide said that the industrial project was a major step toward the overall development and prosperity of the area, which will not only help reduce unemployment, but will also serve as a catalyst for bringing economic and social development opportunities to the region.

He said that industries, commerce and technical education department and local administration should fulfill their assigned responsibilities to ensure the timely commencement of the project.
