KARACHI, April 19: Sindh Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Bokhari on Wednesday visited Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad to review the progress of work of its under-construction advanced emergency centre.

During the visit, he was informed that the advanced emergency centre of Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad would be completed by June and after its functioning emergency patients of the area would not have to go to the Jinnah Postgraduate Centre or the Civil Hospital Karachi for quality treatment.

The centre would house an emergency operation theatre, X-ray department, intensive care unit, nursing institute, library, seminar hall, administration block and classrooms.

This five-storied project, initiated two years back, would be completed at a cost of Rs100.9 million. This emergency centre would cater needs of people of Liaquatabad, Gulberg, North Nazimabad and Gulshan-i-Iqbal towns.

Shoaib Bokhari asked the officials concerned that the project should be completed on its schedule while maintaining quality of work. He said that the Sindh government had provided all required funds for this project.

On the occasion, DO (Buildings) assured that the project would be invariably completed by June. —PPI
