ISLAMABAD: Suspected muggers looted cash and valuables in four separate strikes in the federal capital and shot and injured a delivery boy during one of the robberies.
The capital police said on Friday that in the first incident, gunmen shot and injured a pizza delivery rider within the Noon police station’s jurisdiction. The injured was identified as Mohammad Armughan Ullah.
The police said the rider had come to Sector I-14/2 to deliver pizza and when he reached street no 37, three armed persons appeared in front of him. They signalled him to stop, however, he sped away.
The gunmen started firing at him and as a result, he sustained a bullet injury in his left leg and fell to the ground.
Later, the injured was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
The police registered a case and launched an investigation.
In another incident, robbers looted Rs273,000 in cash from a salesman within the precincts of the Noon police station, the police said, adding that the incident took place when the salesman of a renowned company was intercepted near Chanar Market and looted at gunpoint.
Likewise, robbers looted a motorcycle, mobile phone and cash from an 18-year-old in Shahzad Town police station’s limits.
The police said the robbery incident happened while the victim was returning home after buying medicines from Farash Town.
The muggers made away with a Honda CD 70 worth Rs110,000, a phone worth Rs20,000 and Rs2,500 in cash.
Similarly, a rider of an online ride-hailing service was deprived of a motorcycle, a mobile phone and cash in the Banigala area.
