ISLAMABAD: Culprits looted cash and valuables worth over Rs20 million in six different strikes and shot and injured one of the victims, besides, an Sport Utility Vehicle of an assistant commissioner was also stolen, police said on Wednesday.

In the first incident, gunmen shot and injured a man during a robbery in the area of Noon police station, the police said, adding that two persons armed with weapons intercepted Rehmatullah at Jhangi Syedan and held him at gunpoint.

The robbers snatched Rs70,000 cashfrom him. When he put up resistance the gunmen opened fire on him. As a result he sustained bullet injury and fell on road, while the robbers escaped with the looted items.

In another incident, a precious stone dealer was deprived of Rs8.599million in Kohsar police area, the police said.

Moreover, a gang of six gunmen looted local and foreign currency worth Rs6.95million from the area of Shahzad Town police station, the police said, adding that the incident took place at the house of Khalid Mehmood, located in Jhang Mor.

The gunmen forcefully entered the house and held up the residents at gunpoint and later looted the euro and rupees and later escaped along with the amount.

Furthermore, burglars stole foreign currency and gold worth Rs3.5million from the house of Muzamil Shah, located in Ghouri Town, the police said.

In a similar incident, culprits stole cash and jewelry worth Rs1,1 million from the house Mohammad Amir located in the area of Koral Police station.
