Three police officials suspended

HYDERABAD, April 18: Police officials of the women police station staged a drama on Tuesday night in Latifabad-7 and arrested two boys on the main road for monetary.

The Hyderabad DPO suspended the in-charge and three constables for subjecting youths to torture.

Sources said that the in-charge of the women police station, Ms Azra, who was travelling in a car with an unidentified person, had intercepted two youths for teasing her.

She called policemen from the women police station and policemen in civvies arrived there in a white coloured car.

“Soon after their arrival policemen started mercilessly beating the two boys who kept screaming. The policemen even maltreated on-lookers who tried to know what was happening on the main road,” said a witness.

He said that plain-clothed policemen also beat two watchmen of a bungalow and a school for trying to know what was going-on. The witness said that police took the boys in the car while two policemen sat with the lady in her car to proceed to the women police station.

Later, a message was aired that a teenager, Faizan, had been kidnapped from Latifabad-7.

SP city Afzal Butt and the TPO of Latifabad started patrolling the area.

The TPO intercepted a private car which was driven by a private person Saeed and two persons, Javed and Shafiq were also sitting with him. They were beaten by police to know whereabouts of Faizan.

Javed and Shafiq introduced themselves as police constables who said that they were searching one Mohsin.

They took the TPO to the women police station where he found Faizan and two other persons, Majeed and Yousuf Palari.

Faizan told the TPO that he was subjected to violence here.

He said that he was picked up by police from Latifabad-7 while his friend, Mohsin had fled.

The in-charge of the police station said Majeed and Yusuf Palari were apprehended but the woman involved with them managed to flee.
