TOBA TEK SINGH: The Punjab government’s Danish School System’s ‘Centre of Excellence School’ in Pirmahal has begun admissions to classes one to 10.

Applications are invited until Jan 10. Principal Mumtaz Hussain Shakir said on Wednesday that an impressive building, constructed on 64 kanals at a cost of Rs504 million, has been completed. The facility includes 80 classrooms and five state-of-the-art laboratories.

Mr Shakir said 50 teachers are being recruited and 3,000 students will be recruited with entry tests scheduled for Feb 14 and 15. He said that there will be no admission or monthly fees and free books will be provided to all students.

Initially, the project was approved for primary classes with an estimated expenditure of Rs309 million. However,

it was later expanded to secondary levels, raising the cost to Rs504 million.

CULTURAL CORNRES: The Faisalabad Punjab Council of Arts (FPCA) has inaugurated ‘cultural corners’ to showcase products created by artists from across the division. Social worker Dr Jafar Hassan Mubarak, along with various artists, inaugurated the corners and viewed the exhibits. Director Arts Council Mohammad Awais Abid, Assistant Director Asad Hayat and other officials were present at the event.

The corners displayed works such as Ishrat Bibi’s Gota Kanari craft, Linba’s artwork, Ramsha’s handcrafted items, jewelry designs, handmade candles by Umme Kalsoom, wooden artifacts by Muhammad Ashraf, and a model of Minar-i-Pakistan. Dr Mubarak commended the initiative, highlighting its potential to support artists by creating employment opportunities. He assured his continued support as a member of the Board of Management.

UAF: The University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has announced admissions to its postgraduate degree programs from Jan 10 to 20.

A press release issued on Wednesday stated that interviews for PhD candidates will be conducted on Jan 21.

The admissions cover the main campus as well as sub-campuses in Burewala, Toba Tek Singh and Depalpur.
