The Israeli army said it killed three Palestinian fighters in separate “counterterrorism” raids in the north of the occupied West Bank, with Palestinian officials saying one of the dead was a teenager, AFP reports.
Two fighters were killed when the Israeli air force struck an “armed terrorist cell” that opened fire at Israeli forces who were conducting a raid in the village of Tammun, the military said in a statement.
“The IAF (air force) struck and eliminated two armed terrorists,” the military said.
“Additionally, weapons were confiscated and several wanted individuals were apprehended.”
The Palestinian Red Crescent said its teams had transported the body of an 18-year-old from Tammun who was killed “as a result of shelling”, and that five other people were severely injured during the Israeli raid.
