CHITRAL: Snowfall continued for the third day here on Sunday throughout the Chitral valley stretching from Arandu to Broghil, Shandur and Gobor, where snow has accumulated with height ranging from two to four feet.

The snowfall has caused blowing of intensely cold winds across the valley keeping the people confined to their homes, as a result of which the valley gave a deserted look.

The road link between Chitral and the rest of the country via Lowari tunnel is opened for all kinds of vehicular traffic where heavy machinery has been deployed in the approach road to clear the snow instantly.

Roads to Garam Chashma and Madak Lasht are closed for vehicular traffic while the arteries of Shandur, Torkhow, Laspur and Bumurate are said to be intact for traffic.

The supply of electricity from the national grid via Lowari Pass is still intact providing uninterrupted electric supply to Lower Chitral and many villages of Upper Chitral.
