Fighters have been killed in ambushes in northern Gaza’s neighbourhood, Al Jazeera reports according to a statement by the Israeli military.
They were killed by gunfire and tank shelling of the troops waiting to ambush them following preliminary intelligence that they were planning an escape from the neighbourhood, the statement said.
It added that the Israeli forces continue to operate in the area, locating weapons, and destroying tunnels and military infrastructure.
