Winter rains have flooded dozens of tents in displacement camps in central Deir el-Balah and southern Khan Younis in Gaza, Al Jazeera Arabic staffers, citing Palestinian media, report.

The report came as authorities in Gaza warned of heavy rains in the enclave over the next few days. The forecast is to worsen on Tuesday, Al Jazeera added.

The Government Media Office in Gaza said that the vast majority of displaced Palestinians are sheltering in dilapidated tents that do not protect them from the cold of winter.

It said some 110,000 out of the 135,000 tents that people are sheltering in the Strip are worn out and not fit for use.
