Shorouk al-Rantisi, a medical staff member who worked in the laboratory at Kamal Adwan Hospital, has told Al Jazeera about being forcibly displaced from the facility at the hands of the Israeli military.

After the order to exit the compound was delivered to Director Hussam Abu Safia, the staff was directed towards al-Fareek Square, where men and women were separated, the report adds.

“The Israelis then asked us to take off our [head]scarves but we refused,” al-Rantisi said.

Most of the male medical staff was detained, alongside the male patients who could walk, she added.

“The Israelis decided to take every young man below 15 years of age to the nearby Al Fakhoura school for investigation, but the families refused this,” she said.
