NAROWAL: A worker died and seven were injured when the boiler of a tyre oil extraction factory exploded in Sheikhupura on Monday.

Rescue 1122 Sheikhupura spokesperson Tajumal Hussain said they received an emergency call from the unit at Dilla Wagah on Narowal-Muridke road when the boiler of the tyre oil extraction unit exploded with a huge explosion.

He identified the deceased as 30-year-old Sajjad Hussain while the injured were identified as 22-year-old Arshad Ali, 68-year-old Nazim Shah, 21-year-old Ali Hasan, 21-year-old Asad Ali, 40-year-old Tajamal Ali, 35-year-old Abdul Razzaq and 40-year-old Shahid Ali.

The rescuers provided first aid to the injured and shifted them to hospital while they handed over the body of the deceased to police.

KILLED: A man killed his father-in-law and injured three women of his in-laws over a domestic dispute in Sheikhupura.

According to rescue sources, Muhammad Yusuf, a resident of Machike Stop, Sargodha Road, Sheikhupura, was present at home with his family. Yusuf had a dispute with his son-in-law Kamran. On Monday, Kamran came to his in-laws’ house and opened fire. As a result of the firing, 80-year-old Yusuf died while 50-year-old Irshad Bibi, 25-year-old Sadia Bibi and 22-year-old Sania Bibi were critically injured.

The rescuers provided first aid to the three injured women and shifted them to hospital.

In another incident in Sheikhupura, two brothers were shot dead.

The victims were identified as 25-year-old Ulfat Bashir and 28-year-old Shan Bashir.

The unidentified suspects fled from the spot brandishing weapons after the murder.

Rescue 1122 handed over both the bodies to Khanqah Dogran police.
