SHIKARPUR, April 15: Prof (Dr) Zeenat Issani, former director of the National Institute of Child Health, Karachi, has adopted a 20-bed government hospital for women to provide better health facilities in rural Sindh.

Talking to newsmen here on Saturday, Dr Issani said that the hospital would be renovated and the work would be completed in six months.

She said that the qualified medical staff would be recruited and trained by the new administration to run the hospital in proper manner.

In this regard, an agreement documents was signed by District Nazim Arif Mahar, DCO Khwaja Shafique Ahmed and additional secretary (health) Manzoor Memon from the Sindh government side and Prof (Dr) Zeenat Issani from the private sector at the district government secretariat.

EDO (health) Dr Wahab Mahar and Shikarpur civil hospital MS Dr Masood Badavi were present on the occasion.

According to the agreement, the hospital would start its regular functioning within 12 months and would provide better child and mother health care services to patients.

Initially, the agreement was made for three years which would be extended for 10 years on the condition of providing better services in interests of patients.

The Sindh government would also provide possible facilities to the hospital to run it smoothly.

The district nazim assured that the district government would extend support to the new administration for well being of patients.

The outstanding utility bills for Rs2.125 million would be cleared by the Sindh health department.
