DERA MURAD JAMALI: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has assured that the city of Gandawah would soon be connected to the national grid with the establishment of a 132kV grid station to modernise electricity supply.

Addressing a tribal jirga on Friday, the chief minister pledged to expand the irrigation department and complete the Kachhi Canal project to benefit small landowners and farmers.

He also announced a grant of Rs100 million for the Jhal Magsi Municipal Committee to address the local population’s issues. Highlighting the Baloch people’s reputation for hospitality and peace, the chief minister assured efforts to alleviate deprivation and create educational opportunities for the youth.

Desert jeep rally

Meanwhile, CM Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated the Jhal Magsi Desert Jeep Rally on Friday, with a large number of participants from across the country taking part.

Speaking to the media after the event, the chief minister highlighted that the rally promotes peace and brotherhood while offering a unique tourism and recreational opportunity.

He commended the residents of Jhal Magsi for their peaceful and patriotic nature and noted their enthusiasm in hosting the grand event.

CM Bugti reiterated that all districts of Balochistan, like Jhal Magsi, would be transformed into peaceful areas by ensuring facilities and education for the youth, which he believes will help combat terrorism.
