LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) decided on Thursday to remodel the Multan Road (Iqbal Town) vegetable and fruit market (Sabzi Mandi) near Mansoora and sought a viable plan to resolve various civic issues, especially related to cleanliness, hygiene, traffic congestion, drainage etc.

The remodelling plan was sought after LDA DG Tahir Farooq paid a surprise visit to the market, observed serious civic issues and reprimanded the officials of the market committee and others for making inadequate arrangements.

The DG immediately called the officers concerned to the LDA office to submit a viable remodelling plan in a bid to get rid of various civic issues. He also visited Mustafa Town and Sabzazar housing schemes and sought removal of encroachments within next 24 hours.

power thieves: Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) teams on Thursday detected another 527 connections from where the customers were pilfering electricity in all its circles of five districts (Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara).
