Trump’s Middle East envoy says he hopes hostages in Gaza will be released before inauguration

Steve Witkoff, US President-elect Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, said on Monday in Abu Dhabi he hoped the hostages held in Gaza will be freed before Trump’s inauguration on January 20, Reuters reports.

Witkoff also said he was praying for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza would be reached before Trump takes office.
